BPFT 2015 (Gurgaon): When Cinema Met Fashion

The 11th edition of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2015 (BPFT) had a star-studded opening at The Leela Ambience in Gurgaon. The charming symphony of fashion, music, design and technology was once again experienced at the fashion tour with a rich legacy and good taste.

The evening witnessed the collaboration between Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2015 and Eros International. Also, the occasion marked the launch of the song, ‘Deewani Mastani’ from the upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film, ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Deepika Padukone along with Anju Modi and Raja Banerji, Assistant Vice President, Pernod Ricard India, graced the launch. The style was also unveiled with Anju Modi, who presented her elaborate looks and costumes from the film against the backdrop of the soulful song sung by Kutle Khan. Her collection highlighted marked influences of the traditional Marathi outfits and authentic Persian costumes. The outfits with a wide range of color palette had fabrics such as silk, georgette and more. The interplay of chikankari work, embroidery and floral made the attires look magnificent. Deepika was the showstopper and she brought alive the spirit of Mastani, a multi-faceted woman with progressive attributes.

The second day of the Gurgaon chapter of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour saw Anurag Kashyap as a speaker, revealing that cinema is his style and he truly believes in it.  He spoke about his closeness to his movies and that he never compromises on his stories, irrespective of the hullabaloo his films might create. He was cheered by the spectators as they saw the scenario changing with the electrifying music created by the band Madboy/Mink.

Amid the music, David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore presented their collection, inspired by sustainability and recycling. The colors- white and brown ruled their show and their outfits had the presence of waste materials being used effectively.
