Organized annually by the Haryana Tourism Department, the Surajkund Mela 2016 had artists with over 20 countries participating to celebrate arts and culture. Set against the backdrop of rural feel,the mela is especially for the connoisseurs of art and crafts.
Paintings, wood products, textiles, pottery, ivory work, stone work, terracotta, grass work are some of the ingredients of the Surajkund Mela. Other than the art work, the mela is also a paradise for food lovers with bevy of rich Indian cuisines.
The inauguration ceremony of the mela witnessed performances by Haryanvi dancers centered on saving girl child. Brand Ambassador of Haryana Tourism, actor Dharmendra was also present at the fair.
This year, the theme state is Telangana which is showcasing its culture and rich heritage with about 300 folk arts performers.
