With French and Indian flags in the background, Indian ace designer Manish Arora was recently presented with Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur by the French President, François Richier. The ceremony was a defining moment for the Indian fashion as Arora was cheered for his contribution to the fashion industry.
Arora made his first international mark at the Miami Fashion Week in 2005 but it was at London Fashion Week in September, 2005 where he received an overwhelming response from the buyers and press. Since 2008, he has been showing his collection at the Paris Fashion Week. He is also the creative director at PacoRabane.
His collection could be best described as abstract, colorful and vibrant. And his celebrity client list includes names like Katy Perry, Sonam Kapoor, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and others.
With the award, Arora has also become the first Indian from the fashion fraternity to be awarded with this prestigious honor.
