Soon you may be sipping blue wine apart from the red wine, white wine and occasional rosé wine. A brand called Gik came up with the latest blue colored wine. Made from grapes grown in La Rioja, León and Castilla-La Mancha, the blue wine contains around 11.5 degrees of alcohol.
The two pigments, indigo and anthocyanin basically give the wine, blue color. The wine has slightly acidic taste with sweet burst.
The blue wine can be considered a cool entrée as compared to the sophisticated red and white wine. The suggested food pairings include nachos, pasta, smoked salmon and other bar foods. However, the date on which it is set to hit the market is not disclosed.
