Fashion Designer and Padma Shri award recipient, Wendell Rodricks is all set to convert his 450-year-old-bungalow into a museum that will display Goan costumes. Rodricks, whose Colvale bungalow is a cultural landmark in Goa, has requested the Goan families to come forward and share their vintage clothing, jewelries and accessories. The donated objects will bear the name of the family that has contributed a piece of their clothing legacy.
The museum will be based on his book Moda Goa that tells the history of Goa, as seen through the clothes Goans wore. So, the house, which goes by the name Casa Dona Maria, will become Moda Goa- the museum of Goan costumes.
The museum is about Goans and is an attempt to preserve the rich traditional legacy of the Goan culture.
